Automotive Steel Sheet – DC01-DC06 Forming Grades and HSLA High-Strength Grades

BAOJIANG supplies cold rolled steel sheet for automotive and general stamping in two families: DC01-DC06 forming grades to EN 10130, and HSLA high-strength low-alloy grades to the EN 10268 family. Published range: 0.4-3.0 mm thick, 600-1500 mm wide. Quotation in USD on FOB or CIF terms.

Which two families do you supply?

Family Designation Standard Where it fits
Cold rolled forming steelDC01 – DC06EN 10130Panels, brackets, enclosures and deep-drawn parts
High-strength low-alloyHSLAEN 10268 familyStructural parts that need higher strength at a lower thickness

The DC series runs from DC01, the basic forming grade, to DC06, the most formable of the series and developed for deep drawing. Higher formability also means lower strength, so the two families are not interchangeable: choose by how severe the forming is and by how much load the finished part carries.

Dimensional and shape tolerances for cold rolled flat products are set by EN 10131. Thickness-dependent mechanical values are the values stated on the mill test certificate for your heat.

What sizes and conditions can you supply?

Item Published range Confirmed
Thickness0.4-3.0 mmPer order confirmation
Width600-1500 mmPer order confirmation
FormCoil or sheet, slit to widthSlit width and sheet length confirmed per order
SurfaceMill finishProtective oil, surface quality and flatness stated on the order
HSLA designation–Agreed per order from the supplier’s available EN 10268 range, against the strength you need

What is automotive steel sheet used for?

  • Body panels, reinforcements and brackets for vehicle and trailer manufacture
  • Stamped and deep-drawn components in general manufacturing
  • Enclosures, housings and appliance parts
  • Light structural parts where a higher strength grade allows a thinner section
  • Repair and spare-part production for body and chassis work

What do you need from me to quote?

Send the designation or the strength requirement, standard, thickness and width, surface and oiling requirement, quantity and destination port. For example: DC04 to EN 10130, 0.8 mm x 1250 mm, oiled, 25 t, CIF Alexandria, MTC required. If you are not sure which family fits, send the drawing and the forming operation and we will confirm the route.

Why buy through BAOJIANG?

  • Both families sourced and quoted against your forming operation, not just a grade name
  • Surface condition, oiling and flatness stated on the order before production
  • Slitting coordinated to the width your press line needs
  • Mill test certificate requested and cross-checked against the order
  • Steel trading since 2003, with repeat export-order execution to India as our verified route
  • We do not claim to operate a mill, and we do not claim OEM approval status we cannot evidence

Order terms

  • Minimum order: around one container (about 20-25 tons) for many products; mixed containers and trial quantities reviewed case by case
  • Quotation: USD, typically FOB or CIF according to your destination port
  • Payment: T/T or irrevocable L/C at sight, confirmed with the proforma invoice
  • Loading ports: mainly Ningbo and Shanghai
  • Lead time: confirmed with the quotation against stock or mill schedule
  • Documents: MTC, COO, COC where applicable, packing list, commercial invoice and inspection reports when specified

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between DC01 and DC06?

Both are cold rolled low carbon steel for cold forming under EN 10130. The number tracks formability: DC01 is the basic forming grade and DC06 the most formable of the series, intended for deep drawing. Higher formability implies lower strength, so the right grade depends on how severe the forming is.

Should I choose a DC grade or an HSLA grade?

Choose DC where the part is formed deeply and strength is not critical; choose HSLA where the part carries load and a higher strength grade lets you use a thinner section. Send the drawing and the forming operation and we will confirm which family fits.

Which HSLA designations can you supply?

HSLA cold rolled sheet sits in the EN 10268 family. Availability depends on the mill route, so the designation is agreed per order against the minimum yield strength you need. Tell us the strength requirement and the part, and we will confirm the options.

What thickness can you supply?

The published range is 0.4-3.0 mm thick and 600-1500 mm wide. Slit widths and other thicknesses are confirmed per order.

What about surface oil and flatness?

Protective oil, surface quality and flatness requirements are stated on the order and confirmed before production. Dimensional and shape tolerances for the cold rolled sheet follow EN 10131.

Do you supply OEM-approved material?

Material is supplied to the ordered grade and standard, with the mill test certificate issued by the producing mill. Where your approval process requires a specific mill or an approved-material status, tell us before the order and we will confirm whether the route can meet it – we would rather say so up front than surprise you at loading.

What is the minimum order quantity?

For many products the practical minimum is around one container (about 20-25 tons). Mixed containers and smaller trial quantities can be reviewed.
