H Beam / H Section Steel – Q235B, Q355B and S235JR Sections for Steel Structures

BAOJIANG supplies hot rolled H sections in Q235B (GB/T 700), Q355B (GB/T 1591) and S235JR (EN 10025-2), with a published section height range of 100-900 mm and standard 6 m and 12 m lengths. Sections are supplied to GB/T 11263. Quotation in USD on FOB or CIF terms.

Which grades and standards can you supply?

Grade Standard that defines the grade Minimum yield strength as specified
Q235BGB/T 700235 MPa for thickness up to 16 mm
Q355BGB/T 1591355 MPa for thickness up to 16 mm
S235JREN 10025-2235 MPa for thickness up to 16 mm

Sections are supplied to GB/T 11263, which fixes the dimensions of the HW, HM and HN series. Thickness-dependent values are the values stated on the mill test certificate for your heat.

What sizes can you supply?

Item Published range Confirmed
Section height100-900 mmPer order confirmation
Flange width, web and flange thickness–Fixed by the section table in GB/T 11263; confirmed per order for the section you name
Length6 m / 12 m standardCut to order where the supplier can provide it
SurfaceMill finishPriming or coating coordinated if required

An H section is named by its height and flange width, for example 300×300 mm. Give us the section name your drawing uses and we will confirm the complete dimension set, the tolerance and the weight per metre before the order.

What is H section steel used for?

  • Steel structures, workshops and warehouse buildings
  • Mezzanines, platforms and racking systems
  • Heavy machinery frames and equipment bases
  • Bridges, infrastructure and crane runways
  • Piling and temporary works where high bending stiffness is needed

What do you need from me to quote?

Send the section designation, grade and standard, length, quantity, destination port and document requirement. For example: H 300×300, Q355B to GB/T 1591, 12 m, 24 t, CIF Jebel Ali, MTC required. We confirm the available route, the length and packing method, and the quotation basis.

Why buy through BAOJIANG?

  • Section sizes and grades checked against your drawing before the mill order is placed
  • Grade choice explained against the design code, not guessed
  • Fixed-length cutting coordinated; fabrication stays with your own fabricator
  • Mill test certificate requested and cross-checked against the order
  • Steel trading since 2003, with repeat export-order execution to India as our verified route
  • We do not claim to operate a rolling mill and we do not publish certifications we cannot evidence

Order terms

  • Minimum order: around one container (about 20-25 tons) for many products; mixed containers and trial quantities reviewed case by case
  • Quotation: USD, typically FOB or CIF according to your destination port
  • Payment: T/T or irrevocable L/C at sight, confirmed with the proforma invoice
  • Loading ports: mainly Ningbo and Shanghai
  • Lead time: confirmed with the quotation against stock or mill schedule
  • Documents: MTC, COO, COC where applicable, packing list, commercial invoice and inspection reports when specified

Frequently asked questions

What do the numbers in an H beam size mean?

A designation such as 300×300 means a section 300 mm high with a 300 mm flange width. The web and flange thicknesses are fixed by the section table in GB/T 11263, so the height and width alone do not define the section – name the section exactly as your drawing does and we will confirm the full dimension set.

Should I choose Q235B or Q355B?

Q355B is specified at a minimum yield strength of 355 MPa (GB/T 1591) and Q235B at 235 MPa (GB/T 700), for thickness up to 16 mm. Q355B is used where the structure carries more load or where the same capacity is needed in a lighter section. The choice follows the design code and the drawing – tell us which standard governs and we will confirm.

What lengths can you supply?

6 m and 12 m are the standard lengths. Fixed-length cutting is coordinated where the supplier can provide it; tell us the cut length and the acceptable tolerance.

Can the sections be drilled or primed before shipment?

Fixed-length cutting and surface preparation can be coordinated where the supplier offers it. Drilling, welding and fabrication are normally carried out by your fabricator after delivery, to their own drawing. Tell us if you need a processed condition and we will confirm what can be arranged.

How are the sections packed for shipment?

Packing method, bundle weights, lifting points, marks and dunnage are agreed per order against the container or breakbulk plan and the destination.

What is the minimum order quantity?

For many products the practical minimum is around one container (about 20-25 tons). Mixed containers and smaller trial quantities can be reviewed.
